Our Library

The Langney Primary Library is central to school life, promoting reading for pleasure across the whole school community.  Stocked with over 3000 books there is something for everyone, with the latest releases in quality children’s fiction, poetry, graphic novels, picture books and nonfiction.

All children in Reception to Year 6 visit the library once a week to browse and change their library books, listen to stories and take part in book talk sessions with our librarian.

At Langney we encourage our children to experience the magic of reading and nurture a lifelong love of reading.

BIRTHDAY BOOKS AMAZON WISH LIST

Welcome to our new birthday tradition, "Birthday Books".  On the occasion of a child's birthday, families can donate a book or two to the school which will go in the library or class book corner, with a special bookplate inside to say who kindly donated it.

Our school library and class book corners have been updated and refreshed over the past two years and a genuine love of reading and book talk has been thoroughly embraced across the whole school.  These donated books will help continue to grow and develop our book collection and build on this enthusiasm.

If you would like to donate a book, you can purchase from any bookseller, however, we have created Amazon wish lists, full of handpicked books, perfectly tailored for each year group that you can select from.

Of course, it doesn't have to be your child's birthday for you to donate a book, these wish lists can be accessed throughout the year!

Any books purchased using our Amazon wish list links can be sent directly to the school by selecting the Langney Primary Academy Gift Registry address at checkout.  Please let us know if you have purchased a book and would like us to include either your name, or your child’s name on a bookplate as a sign of appreciation from us!
